The gathering was an opportunity to learn not just in a conceptual way, through more of a felt sense or at a deeper level of awareness that unfolds and breathes life into new possibilities, recognising the interconnectedness of all things. There was both hope and despair, as we confront immediate and overwhelming environmental crises, that there is still room for something quite beautiful to emerge through people coming together to recognise, acknowledge, and celebrate the generosity and traditional wisdom of Indigenous Peoples throughout the world.

From the brilliant, unclouded minds of the children, the inspirational and engaging young people, the presence and playfulness of dogs, and the kindness, compassion and humility of all present who shared their hearts and minds over the weekend, deep bows of gratitude. Interestingly, it is always the reflective moments that arise later of contemplating possibilities and our world in a different way, and how we can change or adapt to reach our immense potential for being kinder to ourselves, each other and the planet.

While vegetarianism is now clear on my radar, I look forward to continuing the unfolding journey that we choose to share with each other.
