Day’s Activities
Today we locate ourselves to the south side of the island. We will travel in the morning to a significant cultural restoration area and later return to the local University of Hawaii Maui campus for our Live Broadcast day of speakers and events ‘To hear the ‘Voices of Our Original Nations and Peoples’. The evening is filled with stories, songs and performance as we end the day with the FAR (Friends, Allies and Relatives Visiting Hour) and the Stories and Songs of the People Celebration with our special invited guests and performing artists.
7:30am | Travel to Wetlands Restoration area Visit with Cody Kokomon Nemet Tuitivaiti who will share the vision and experience of the regenerative process of this culturally significant wetlands area of the island. The neglect and overdevelopment of the area inspired Cody to found the Ainakuko’a O Waiohuli Kai and develop restoration of the wetlands. |
8:30am | Return to Kahului for set up at University of Hawaii |
